Mustapha’s post on censoring the web on the BeirutSpring apparently found some listening ears as the article NowLebanon removed earlier yesterday was republished today.
Disclaimer: NOW Lebanon has intentionally removed this article from the site. It was not removed because of censorship, but rather because of the lack of proper arguments. We would like to repeat, again, that NOW is not owned, in whole or in part, by Prime Minister Saad Hariri, nor any other political party or figure.
Disclaimer by NowLebanon explaining the censorship
It appears that Hariri had nothing to do with this censorship and intervened on a personal level to make sure the article is back up. I highly recommend that you read the full story [Here].
This is yet another proof that web censorship is wrong.
it’s actually not proof that censorship is wrong, it’s just proof that nobody has a clue what’s going on.
Well it is not censorship; if the article was published without the consent of the editor…
Have you seen EVER any piece on Manar critical of SHN?
If you only used half the brain in your head you’d see this is nothing but a stunt, a fake. Sure the article insults Saad Hariri, but in which way does it insult him? Does it call him a corrupt thief? No. Does it call him Bandar bin Sultan’s prostitute? No. What it does is clear, it actually says he’s doing less than what’s necessary to defend the righteous, democracy loving, M14 cause and of fighting the evil criminals that are Hizballah and Bashar. This is all in fact the exact same kind of criticism of Saad Hariri that you would see from Future Movement supporters, and is in no way even close to the argument that his political opponents make.
I’m sure you would find what I said to be silly, so just imagine this: If you read on article on tayyar.org that criticized Michel Aoun heavily saying: “Aoun is doing far less that enough to prosecute and imprison the billionaire thieves like Sanyoura and his unscrupulous masters, and seems to be surrendering to the murderers and criminal Islamists that are trying to take over Lebanon with the help of the ISF mafia, his constant attempt to try to solve things peacefully and quietly through dialogue and talks will cause Lebanon to be destroyed; he seems to have no grasp of reality and losing supporters very rapidly.”
And a while later, the article is removed by tayyar.org admins, and then an FPM blogger writes an artcile criticizing the censorship on tayyar.org then the article is restored, and you know the rest…
So tell me, after reading all this about the tayyar.org article, tell me what your reaction would be?
Oh and I forgot to mention, Michel Aoun intervened on a personal level to make sure the tayyar.org article is back up, and expressed his outrage at the attempt to suppress criticism and objective thinking. So again I ask, what’s your reaction to this story?
