January 6th is epiphany and is officially the end of the Christmas season for Christians.
Many cultures/religions still celebrate the period between the 25 of December and epiphany as the Christmas season. The 12 days of Christmas is also in reference to this time period. Commercialism has taken out the religious aspect of Christmas and people now often disregard epiphany as within the Christmas season and thinks its a Christmas day for only certain groups of people or religions.

I find that people in Lebanon do recognize the 12 days of Christmas, as well as the period prior to Christmas when many fast. Epiphany is recognized in Lebanon as well and a big shibangbang is done.
Just because we recognize that some sects celebrate Christmas on the 6th doesn’t mean we neglect epiphany.
Just a FYI: The title is actually the Armenian which Armenians in Armenia speak and slightly differs from Lebanese Armenians. It says Merry Christmas and happy new year … its the new year part which is different than ours 😀
My remark is not specific to or only target the people in Lebanon as it is a general comment for those who celebrate Christmas Worldwide and do not have any knowledge of its meaning.
