According to this LBCI report, and based on a study by the Economist, Lebanon has the highest alcohol consumption per person in the Arab world with 2.23 liters per year.
That’s good news but old news as I remember reading about those stats two years ago. I tried looking for an updated report but couldn’t find any except this old one where you find the 2.23 liters.
Turkey, Indonesia, Pakistan, Libya and Iran are part of the Arab world?
Lost in translation?
I compared Lebanon to the Arab countries mentioned. I don’t know why LBCI labeled the ones u stated as being Arab countries.
Oh okay, it wasn’t very clear.
Zamatit menak Libya
LBC are becoming rusty.. I saw this chart in the economist almost 3 months ago..
Good, we should have the freedom to drink responsibly in Lebanon.
Thanks for posting this video and giving ur feedback. Actually the study mentioned is 4 months old, but still relevant, as trends in consumption of alcohol don’t see significant changes in such a time period. Also there is no newer study, add to it the scarce number of studies conducted in such fields ans in such regions.
As to saying Arab world, I was mainly comparing Lebanon to Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Libya and other Arab countries but other non-Arab countries- which share many religious and cultural aspects with the Arab world- like Turkey, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Iran were present in the study so I thought it would be interesting to show them in the graph (although I didn’t mention them in my text).
Anyway thanks again for discussing this study, I hope I will always hear from your blog 🙂
