when i used to live in Europe, most of people used to complain about malls, it kills the local market and most of the local production.
this is why most malls are build far,outside the cities.
in Lebanon they build it in the middle of the damn highway! but lets admit it, they are not responsible for the traffic 😉

Le groupe ABC et Verdun 1544 Holding, l’une des entreprises du groupe immobilier Bahaa Rafic Hariri, ont annoncé le lancement d’ici six mois d’un nouveau projet, le centre commercial ABC Verdun.
Ce projet, d’un coût de 200 millions de dollars, sera édifié sur un terrain de 18.000 mètres carrés, avec une surface bâtie de 175.000 m2, dont quelque 50.000 m2 destinés à la location.
En vertu de ce partenariat, le groupe ABC a acquis l’exclusivité de la gestion sur 30 ans, en plus de l’exploitation exclusive de 10.000 m2 pour développer une surface ABC. L’inauguration est prévue en 2017.
Fondé en 1936, l’ABC a été le premier grand magasin à ouvrir ses portes au Moyen-Orient. Détenant aujourd’hui six branches réparties à travers le pays, le groupe ABC attire environ 11 millions de visiteurs par an.
