Lebanese Farah Kassem became the fourth ninth Lebanese (after Maxime Chaya in 2001, Hana el Habri and her son in 2007), and the second third Female Lebanese to climb Mount Kilimanjaro when she reached the summit at 5895 meters on the 4th of July with 8 other climbers.
Update: Five more Lebanese climbed Mount Kilimanjaro back in 2008 as well: Patricia Shuhaiber, Bechara Mezannar, Rafic Hage, Adel Abi Najem & Jad Moussa.

To be more correct, she’s the fourth Lebanese that Annahar knows of that climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. I know three Lebanese who climbed it in 2010, and there’s probably many more. Not everyone shares and publishes their accomplishments.
I would like to thank you for being the first person on Earth to investigate the achievement and correct the information that has been circulating the news. Everyone was saying she is the second Lebanese to do so, and that is not true. You, at lease, corrected that and mentioned she is the fourth and the second FEMALE Lebanese to do so.
I really respect your efforts.
Well, actually, I, Patricia Shuhaiber, have been the second Lebanese female to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in 2008 with 4 other guys, Bechara Mezannar, Rafic Hage, Adel Abi Najem & Jad Moussa. Therefore, as Phandy said not everyone publishes their accomplishments! It is time to share our achievements!
Post updated. Great job guys 🙂
I climbed it back in 1995 with a group of my high school friends. Didn’t realize it was such a big deal. I have also climbed Mt. Blanc as well as a few others in Switzerland.
2 of my friends climbed the mountain in 2010 as well, Karine Ataya and Houssam Shallah. Last year, a group of Syrians and Lebanese climbed it for charity. I’m sure there’s a lot more as well. But we just don’t know about.
Another Lebanese who went up there 🙂

I suggest you just say “became another Lebanese…” and “another female”. I know of some people as well who climbed the mountain who I will not mention here.
Fact is that this is a popular climb and I’m pretty sure that we don’t have all the facts on all the climbers. This mountain didn’t just pop out of nowhere. It’s been there for quite a while 🙂
Indeed, I second Hady,
A group of 15 Lebanese I know also climbed mount Kilimanjaro.
I still have the checklists and cost sheets and training plans, since I was planning to go with them as well 🙂
Dude! Lots of lebos have climbed this mountain!
haha
You practically pay a guide and they take you there. Sure it’s difficult, but not seriously challenging. I know of at least 2 other leb colleagues who have done it and are not listed here.
I can’t see how this is news.
LOL
Lebanese like to brag about everything!
I know that my dad’s friend and his wife climbed Mt. Klimanjaro back in the 70s. Its pretty popular climb and not too grueling done by many.
I don’t know if you should even state that X amount of people have climbed it since you clearly have no facts.
Guys,
It’s great that all of you have climbed Kilimanjaro but I am not an expert in these matters and was reporting what I thought was an achievement as mentioned in the papers and online.
It’s great to hear all of you went up. I don’t mind compiling that list and posting it if you like 🙂
I don’t think Klimanjaro is a big achievement, every year a large group from Kuwait climb Klimanjaro and this year I had a bunch of friends (including Lebanese) who climbed it.
