Lighting Up The Christmas Tree – By Michel Kosseifi
Last year’s 97-foot-high Jbeil Christmas tree was featured in the Wall Street Journal and the Guardian and was truly one of the most beautiful trees we’ve seen in Lebanon, but this year’s decoration is even better and the work done by the Jbeil Municipality is quite impressive!
I didn’t have the chance to visit yet but until then, enjoy these pictures from yesterday’s launch. Here’s also a [video] you can watch.

Here’s how the new design was explained:
I love that they kept the old tree and placed it near the sea castle.

I prefer an authentic Christmas tree
this one looks so high tech!
i admit that it’s very beautiful to look at, but i can’t feel the Christmas spirit
Ugly as hell!
Looks like a skyscraper and not a tree
Woooooooooooow, Amaaaaaaaaaaaaziiiiiiiiiiiiiiing !
Lebanon is really the best country in the world, you an ski, then swim under Jbeil’s christmas tree in the same day!
The design is not bad, however I miss the red and green colors! It seems that they’re somehow old fashioned now.
Byblos’s Christmas decorations are obviously the most exciting in the country. The tree and the lighting of the whole city are quite amazing!
so wunderschön! Der Weihnachtsbaum in Jbeil/Byblos ist jedes Jahr schöner! Danke!
