We can’t install a bridge every 1Km.
I believe we have enough bridges between Nahr l Kalb tunnel and Nakkach bridge.
The incident happened next to “Le Royal” bridge, then you have the “Fouhoud” bridge, both are bridges for cars and between them you have a pedestrian bridge.
Spending some extra 10-15min to reach our destination by using nearby bridges will harm no one, neither the pedestrians nor the drivers.
We can all ask the taxi or the bus we ride to drop us off next to a bridge and have a walk or maybe take another bus or taxi, instead of dropping us off in the middle of the highway.
