That’s what our minister of telecommunications promised yesterday. Lower prices and a much faster internet. Let’s hope for the best.

Prices are fine. Faster connection with more download bandwidth is what we need.
Mark,
Prices are not fine when you look at what you’re getting. If they keep prices as they are and provide new faster connections for higher prices, then they won’t change a thing.
We should be paying 5$ for the connection they are currently giving us.
Lebanese gov are all talk bla bla and full of BS promises! I highly doubt it’s gonna happen in a country that shuts down electricity when they want to! Shu promises of faster connection while people are still sleeping without AC…come on!
Always good to read about technology and telecommunication in BlogBaladi.
The details of what Sehnaoui promised today can be found in the Daily Star article entitled: “Sehnawi looks to cut Internet prices and increase speed” (http://www.dailystar.com.lb/Business/Lebanon/2011/Aug-04/Sehnawi-looks-to-cut-Internet-prices-and-increase-speed.ashx#ixzz1U6Dvi6m1)
Moreover, we wrote in details in our blog post entitled “Waiting for Lebanon’s Internet Godot” (http://cedarcomnews.mobi/2011/07/waiting-for-lebanon’s-internet-godot/) how Lebanon gets its Internet, what is the current holdup for faster speeds, and what are the next steps to ignite the Telecom Sector.
Thanks Najib for your timely posts as always.
Any updates on this?
