Najib posted last week about a London Taxi driver that was driving recklessly. Well London Taxi responded with the following comment:
Hi Najib,
This is Rabih Dib from London Taxi Company, we would like to thank you for your feedback and taking the pictures. We already found out the driver behind this images and we took all the necessary measurements.Rabih Dib
Corporate Comnmunications Manager
London Taxi
This is amazing new Mark! Good for London Taxi.
Wow! I never thought they’d reply.
Thank you Rabih. Hoping more businesses will take into consideration such issues.
Yeah, but what exactly are “necessary measurements,” to say nothing of “necessary measures?”
Ali: He doesn’t have to share the “necessary measurements”. Companies handle this stuff internally, maybe he will warn the guy, maybe he will just have chat with him, maybe he will fire the guy.. it’s up to them.
Ali,
The simple fact that they did take into consideration our complaint and answer back is good enough in Lebanon. They will most probably reprimand the guy or warn him.
“measurements”?? I think he means “measures”.. He’s got really bad English for “London Taxi”‘s Communications Manager !!
Guys,
I cannot believe this has gone from bad driving to the correct use of the English language, have you not got anything better to do with your time, than worry about the difference between measures and measurements!!!
aaarg some people just have to criticize everything ! measurements or measures , who cares , english is the second language for all of us , and we’re doing quite good with it , i think some spelling mistakes here and there will not be that big of a deal.
Mark: I am skeptical because it is very easy for a company to say “we have taken the necessary measures” because they can define “necessary” as they wish, and you don’t know what that means. For all you know, “necessary” could mean congratulating him. Then again, it could mean he will be punished – but my point is that we don’t know.
Najib, I agree. This seems like a step in the right direction. I’m just a grumpy, negative guy.
