Lebanon’s Maronite Christian Church inaugurated a towering, lighted cross Monday as a sign of unity among the world’s people. The cross soars more than 73.8 meters into the air and is lit up with 1,800 spotlights in the mountain village of Qanat Bekish, according to Father Farid Doumit, a Maronite priest in the village. As reported by blogger Beirut boy, Acid club "was ordered to close by the municipality following noise complaints from neighbors.", according to Non-profit LGBT organization Helem. For those who don't know, Acid is a gay club and has been open for years, even though homosexuality is illegal by law in Lebanon.
