Since no one really cares about not having a Lebanese President anymore, we can all brag for now about the new first lady of Argentina, Juliana Awada, who’s of Lebanese descent because she’s apparently the closest thing to presidency that we will get this year (and maybe next year). Juliana is the wife of the Mayor of Buenos Aires and newly elected Argentinian President Mauricio Macri. She’s the daughter of Abraham Awada, a Lebanese immigrant native of Baalbeck.
On a serious note, why can’t we have a woman as a president in Lebanon? What’s stopping our female politicians from applying or presenting themselves as potential candidates? I’d love to see a female president in Lebanon one day. For now I’d love to see a president though 🙂
We do have a female lebanese presidential candidate(Nadine Moussa). But she’s too secular and reasonable for people to take notice. In Lebanon you have to stir up sectarian primitive feelings to get attention. But you should check out her campaign. It’s grossly overlooked in the media and she’s been screaming about the same things we want for years.
Yes, fully agree. MaĂ®tre Nadine got the educational background, professional expertise, smart woman with a plan anti-corruption. It is about time for transparency and integrity to get installed! A woman does things differently and definitely with better outcomes at level of care for issues that relate to people issues. Please check her page and learn about her objectives. MaĂ®tre Nadine deserves to be given a chance to present her plan … I m sure all will join her to help her accomplish all our dreams.
Nadine Moussa. Check your fb post everyone is talking about her.
Nadine Moussa ! She would be the best woman candidate for presidency!
A female president would probably hurt the ego of our sexist male politicians, which is why they probably wouldn’t support a female candidate.
hoping that someone would get a position because of their gender is just as ignorant and sexist as denying someone a position because of their gender
Agreed.
.Before the war in 1974 Lebanon was the Switzerlandof the Orient and even better, and we were working on a magnificent improvement of our democratic system which was the best and the only one in the Arab world at the time… We didn’t have dictators, nor kings rule our country. We were free, educated, smart and even our currency was powerful that at a certain time, it was higher than the USD…!!! All this had gone during the 40 years of an ugly civil war nourished by our neighbors, the west and those we v received as refugees, in order to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian problem…. It means we were slaughtered for free in order to please other people agenda… Our religious men and politicians traitors played the major role in executing the plan, as they were trapped and after they liked the game. Lebanon paid and still paying the price and this all over the country. We went back years into dark ages, and if we didn’t have this unique Lebanese spirit, the phoenix spirit, we would have been gone a long time ago and even our country would have had got another name!!! We are not able to have a woman as a president, not because we don’t have the right for women to apply, but those controlling the country and taking us as hostages, don’t want to change the rules, and mess with their agenda. When it comes to a place ruled by mafia and War Lords, we cannot speak and analyze in a democratic and modern way of talking. We have to get rid of the cancer first in order to move a step forward…Who is gone do it, and how? By voting only? Lebanese people cannot do it because most of them rely on those traitors precisely to survive!!! Only a miracle is capable of saving our country and this miracle has to be born first into our spirit, our mind and consciousness… A deep self reeducation is needed all over the country, in every house, every place, every gathering to introduce people to hope, dignity, fraternity under one flag, absolute love for the land, patriotism and all those values, again… Those noble words are missing more and more in our philosophy, in our society….!!! Sorry to say it this way, but we are here to talk and talk seriously in order to change anything and move forward… Self analysis, self confidence, and absolute dedication is the cure. I am optimistic despite all darkness, we are going through, that one day by our continued work and dedication, things will change and the light will be born again into our hearts… God bless our women, our people, our Lebneina Mrs Moussa, I am one of your admirers and support you fully … !

We need to save our Lebanon.. I care having a President..
I do care having normal life.. I do care having serious laws in lebanon .. I do care having Lebanon garbage free … I do care having roads to life not to death.. I care of having mothers’ rights .. I do care about our new generations.. Our children’s future..
only a Woman can do a change..
U are needed … A great woman like u can feel the hurt and the pain in order to change our children’s horrible destiny …
