The Global Fire Power list uses over 60 individual indicators to measure a country’s military strength, including manpower, air power, land power, naval power, financials, geography, natural resources, and logistics. The United States has topped the list since 2005, followed by China, Russia, and India.
As for Lebanon, it ranked 115th out of 145 countries considered for the annual GFP review, placing dead last in the Middle East region. Turkey ranked first in the region, followed by Israel, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and the UAE.
Looking at Lebanon’s ratings, its best scores were in Paramilitary Forces Strength (19/145), for the wrong reasons obviously, and 20th in Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) Fleet Strength but I think it’s due to the UNIFIL vessels not just the Lebanese Army.
