Ever since I had that dispute with the ZWZ Valet dude, I’ve been noticing there’s one Valet Parking company (IVP) that’s working for almost all the restaurants and pubs I passed by or went to.
They are all over Antelias, Gemmayze, Kaslik, you name it. I truly hope restaurants and pubs will start looking for other options.
You can see herebelow the assurance the IVP company (For all wedding) gives you upon taking your car.
In other words, “We can steal from your car, but you can’t do anything about it. You should be grateful we are giving you your car back”.
Update: ZWZ employs VIP not IVP even though from what I’ve seen, they’re both crap.
Hello Najib,
Please note that there are 2 different companies: VIP & IVP.
The one at ZWZ is VIP. This is a different one 🙂
Thanks 🙂
Thank you for the correction.
So ZWZ’s valet is not international :P.
Shame.
i had an incident 2 days ago, i had exchanged 5000LL worth of coins and hid them in the glove box of my car inside a small tissue.. then i went to Babel resto, i didnt notice which valet parking they used.. after i got my car back, i checked the glove box, the tissue was there, so i never opened it, yesterday i needed some coins, so i checked the glove box only to discover that the kind valet guy left me 750LL..
i called babel and i gave the manager an earful, he was obviously embarrassed and speechless, he apologized and took my contact info, but i doubt he’ll be doing anything..
what bothers me is that i didn’t wanna give the car to the valet guy anyways, but there’s nowhere near babel to park.. needless to say, i won’t be going to babel anymore.. i know it’s not their fault, but they hired the thieves
Shame indeed! 😛
i don’t care if they want to have valet or not, i want the freedom to choose whether i want to park it myself or have their valet do it. they must provide a space for that.
Last year I once had no choice but to give it to the Valet at Edde Sands. He not only stole the coins, but also some biscuits and pastries!
Guys,
I am in no way defending the commando style Valet Parking in Beirut…But wherever you are in the civilized world; you would see the disclaimers that the management is not responsible for the loss of contents in your car. It is your responsibility to leave the important parts in the trunk and give the “valet boy” the valet key(does not open the glove compartment or the trunk). Not the master one
