The football game between Al-Ahed Beirut and Altyn Astyn from Turkmenistan was flagged as a “suspicious match” in FIFA’s anti-corruption system and Al Ahed’s goalkeeper is suspected of match-fixing following his horrendous goalkeeping mistake.
If you look closely at the video, you will understand why. The goalkeeper seems to be looking away when the ball came to him and even if he didn’t do that on purpose, he could have easily reached the ball before it went in. It looks like he really wanted that goal lol!
I wouldn’t be surprised if the match was fixed. To be honest, I’ve lost hope in Lebanese football a long time ago, especially after 24 players, including members of the National Team, as well as were charged of involvement in the match-fixing scandal.
Let’s wait and see what FIFA decides.

Thank u Nady!
I don’t think it’s a fix, I believe he is the dumbest goal keeper in the history of FIFA and should be recognized for that!
I’m a current footballer here and it’s unfortunate that there is such a bad reputation for football here. On the other hand, sports in general do not receive enough attention from the government, families or schools. There is nothing wrong with the mentality that education comes first, but sports have a direct impact on this and this could easily become a positive impact. The problem is that there isn’t proper coaching or care from the parents. When the parents have the nanny go with the kid to training, they have no idea how good or bad the coaching or environment is. This all has to do with why you saw and still potentially see match-fixing. If there was a proper setup in football today, the players would have an opportunity to go abroad and ply there trade while coming back and teaching future generations about professionalism.
One thing that would be nice is for people here to encourage the national team and local teams and continue to push for more funding and proper infrastructure. The negativity doesn’t help, just like negativity in the political scene doesn’t help.
