I was at the super market (Le Charcutier Aoun in Jeita) and noticed they were selling Communion wafers (erben) in the bread section. They had two sizes, the small ones we usually take at church and the big one the priest usually holds up before breaking in half (I think). Anyway so I was wondering, are there any other uses for these wafers? I mean do people use them for something other than Communion like maybe with tea, in a dessert or maybe spread Nutella on it? They had a huge quantity on display and right next to the bread section so I figured maybe there was another use for it….
I don’t think there’s a use for them, I just get them sometimes simply because they are good to eat!
Maybe priests are out of stock in some distant regions. We should try it with nutella though.
There is something slightly sacrilegious about eating a communion wafer with nutella on it!
Why Danielle ?
They dip it in wine as well .. which is worse ?
Hmm…yeah but I guess the wine is part of the religious ceremony…soo I see it differently..
Sorry if I was in quite an argumentative mood today! 😉
