In case you’ve been wondering what’s that huge pink building near Biel in Beirut, it’s O1NE, the latest Sky Management nightlife project and what’s going to be a true artistic landmark for Lebanon and the region. In fact, I visited the construction site few days ago and had a chat with one of the project’s managers who filled me in on details related to O1NE.
As you can see from the pictures, the place is huge and based on what I’ve been told, 16 talented graffiti artists from all over the world came to Lebanon, despite the situation, to interpret the theme of Music on the 2,500 sqm wall. I met 3 of them including Karski (cool guy) while on site. To be honest, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a graffiti this big so this looks very promising and I look forward to seeing the final outcome.
The nightclub is expected to open by the end of the year but that’s not official yet. The place is huge from the inside and will have some really cool features which I will mention in future posts once I have some pictures to share.
Until then, you can follow updates of this awesome graffiti work on O1NE’s Instagram account [Here].
PS: For those interested, the artists involved in this project are: Karski (Art Director), Nase, SWK, Binho, Zedz, Telmo, Miel, Nash, Mr. Wany, Mr. Dheo, SATONE, Tasso, Roids, Bonzaï, Koan and Treze.
if it’s another pretentious strict-door-policy nightclub/bar/dance-floor, we are not interested, seriously. at least i’m not.
everything is being westernized in Lebanon, except for the night scene.
I’ve seen so many interesting clubs in Europe, and none had the door policies Skybar, White or Pier 7 have. I got wasted in 30 euros, and i danced with strangers.
this is what having fun should look like. not spending a quarter of my monthly salary to reserve a table, and go inside to listen to some amazing music, that no one is dancing to, because everyone is so busy staring at the others, being judgmental, and being, you know, Lebanese.
Spot on, Marc.
Lebanese people spend money they dont have, to buy things they dont need, to impress people they dont like.
Aizone, Skybar, Edde Sands, and the list goes on.
Thank You Marc. ^_^
We always claimed to have the best nightlife. We tend to hide the fact that you need to either have connections with the owners to get a place, or you need to plan your night 2 months ahead. Not to mention, tourists are missing on our best clubs because of this non-sense.
Nice one Marc.
I hate sky managment, they are a bunch of pretentious idiots
So is this pronounced O-One? Or O-One-Ne? Or just One?
haha! thank you Ali! this proves my point about the pretentiousness of it all.
ur right but the thing is that in lebanon the girls dress up like sluts and act as prostitues and they claim to be innocent and the guys act tough and “papaziye” so it does not matter where u spend the night the lebanese mentality will not change. if u go to alley way in hamra or urguay u ll realize that its the same thing although theres no door policy. However i realized that jbeil and jouniye are more like european bars.
