Thank you Sara for the pic
MEA pilot Joseph Ayat has passed away few days ago after a long fight with cancer. For those of you who don’t know, he was the pilot who got laid off by MEA after 30 years of service because he was undergoing cancer treatment. The incident prompted the majority of MEA pilots to stage a 48-hour strike.
This is definitely not the way he would have wanted his career to end. I hope MEA or the Lebanese Pilots Association will organize a small ceremony in his honor.
Sincere condolences to his family and friends.
PS: I couldn’t find any picture of Pilot Joseph Ayat online. If anyone has a picture please email it to najib@blogbaladi.com.
R.I.P. Captain
MEA incidents have reached an astonishing level!
We NEED a new airline in Lebanon ASAP!!!
Mohammad El-Hout, Chairman-Director General of Middle East Airlines, is an idiot, should be ashamed of himself and must be fired. The last thing we need here in Lebanon is a dumb ass running our airline! I can’t believe how he is staying in this position for that long while the airline continues to go down the drain! He’s just a dumb guy with stupid decisions. The Board of Directors who’s keeping him is dumber!!

Dear Simon,
I was searching for my childhood friends from Kfarshima and was devastated by the sad news of Joseph’s loss. My sincere condolences to you, Michel and all his family. May his soul rest in peace. The photo brings back the old memories and the good times spent with your good self, Suheil Azzi, Bechara Kenaan, Elie Madi and Joseph….
