Kuwait granted Lebanon an $85 million loan Monday to finance the upgrading and rehabilitation of the Zouk and Jiyyeh power plants as part of efforts to overhaul the ailing electricity sector. The 25 year-long loan will partially finance the project to boost production in Zouk and Jiyyeh plants by 272 MW. [Link]
Electricity ships should be arriving this week to Lebanon but we’ve been expecting them for months, so we will just have to wait and see. Electricity has been terrible lately and the generators are cutting us off now.
Hope so,fingers crossed ….
That’s only if politicians don’t pocket all of it
if only people dont nag about everything at least for solutions
Lebanon has been without Electricity since the 70s
and as my dad use to say he was born in the dark, his children were born in the dark and his grand children will be too.
the problem is not technical it’s purely political
these 85 million $ will be stolen.. so dont count on it a lot
hope i’m wrong!
one more thing the ships WONT arrive in leb next week they will DEPART from turkey next week and arrive at the end of feb 2 months earlier than the schedule which is good news
one of the ships*
