Two bombs targeting a nightclub and a liquor store exploded early Wednesday in the Lebanese city of Tyre, one of the few areas of the conservative South where alcohol is available. [Link]
Fortunately, there were no casualties reported even though the night club is highly frequented by UNIFIL soldiers.
The prime suspects are religious extremists noting that alcohol in Lebanon is only banned in areas under the control of Shia militant group Hezbollah and radical Sunni movements.
probably banning alcohol will help us beat israel.
iThink it is something bigger than just Alcohol , Lebanese is experiencing a certain stable situation comparing to what is happening in some other countries in the region, We have a lot of Intelligence systems operating here, so it might be a certain act to create disturbance in a way to release pressure on other countries. I just wish it would be just a question of alcohol and let us not drink alcohol in Tyre ! 🙂

I love it where it says :”The conservative south”!! When are Lebanese going to be brave enough to call things with its proper name. Why not call it: the area dominated by the Willayet el Faqih following uber religious militia Hizballah?
PMSing Jeff,
Do you know that its Hezbollah who actually allowed alcohol in the south? (while the extreme Sunnis had stopped it, i.e. in Saida)
Its worth noting that politically i am a 14th, but this doesnt stop me from stating facts objectively.
Cheers from the south 😉
Najla you are so cute. We all believe you. I guess whenever you take out those orange & yellow blinders you will see that there are no Sunnis in Nabatiyeh…Yalla time for that midol babe
Lebanon’s name will soon be “New Iran”
Its sickening..
