I had two regular tickets to Avicii’s concert yesterday but I couldn’t go so I gave them to a friend who was grateful at first but was furious this morning when I called him to see how the concert went. Apparently, the concert, the setup, the sound and video effects and Avicii were great but the organization was very bad whereas he had to wait for more than 2 hours before getting in. He told me some people just threw away their tickets and left. I noticed a lot of angry comments on the Facebook event’s page as well.
I don’t know why people had to wait for so long but from what I’ve heard, the entrance to the regular & teen sections was narrow so people were literally squished there while VIP ticket holders got the huge Biel entrance. Add to that never-ending security checks, Saturday night traffic and people not respecting the queues.
In all cases, someone owes these fans an explanation but I’m glad I didn’t go last night.
Let’s start with arriving to the venue; no signs whatsoever a complete chaos and we stood in the wrong que for a while before mistakingly knowing we should change our place the signages where above the entrance but nothing before. There were no organized barriers whatsoever it was just a big chunk of people (remember this concert has 12,000 attendees) standing and the only way to get in was to push and act “smart” (el shater bila7e2 7alo) with one entrance for the standing area (the most crowded section) it even included the teen section. After two hours of waiting me and my friend managed to push our way in past the extremly rude “bouncers”. Getting inside 3 super small bars to serve 12,000 people which makes no sense I waited and got pushed with drinks falling on me then I decided its not worth the wait. When we wanted to leave the exit was supper narrow and only one person can leave at a time making it unbarable not to mention waiting for around an hour in the parking lot and a fight breaking through right infront of me with no one to stop it.
On a bright side the show was epic and Avicii just rocked Beirut but honestly some people were too fed up to enjoy the show and some didn’t even make it in time.
These people owe us an apology and some sort of compensation AT LEAST for the people who did not make it in
Are you 15 years old Najib? Who on earth goes to an Avicii concert?
Turning 16 next month.
Scam Detector detected a scam right here. Who the FFFF goes to Avicii. thanks for letting the audience now that you don’t listen to music
Nothing wrong with attending Avicii’s concert. Not a big fan but concerts are fun 🙂
theres everything wrong with attending an Avicii concert, that is if art is important to you. If not then so be it. Anyway no need for a debate, live and let live. But sometimes I can’t when I see people going to avicii.
Happy early Birthday. 😛
Elie,
Again I don’t find it that wrong but if you do, there’s no need to force your opinion on others. I just happened to have tickets and thought I’d go.
There’s no debate when it comes to music. To each his own.
Najib,
don’t get me wrong I’m not forcing anything, you can go secretly, but if you make a post about it, then the world will know how much of a shit is ur musical and party taste. if i happen to have tickets, I would clean my shit with it.
You are dead wrong about debates when it comes to music. Music is all about debate and taste and educating people in music. But i d understand why people like you don’t debate music. because you have no data to debate on. If i ask you for advise and ask you to give me 5 of ur best tracks of funk/disco would you know? no! so no debate.
Elie,
The post was about what happened at a long-awaited event by thousands of Lebanese not about Avicii himself. If this happened at a Justin Bieber concert, which I despise, I would have mention it.
And again, you can debate all you want about music but calling other people’s taste shit is not really debating. I could ask you for your taste in music and call them shit as well. That’s not a debate.
Who told you I like the funk/disco genre? Or is that the only genre we are allowed to like and the others are shit?
exactly boss.
If that’s the case, then you know nothing about music 🙂
says who? the pelican?
excuse my rudeness, but as you see i am passionate about music and I easily get mad angry when I see shit artists getting exposure.
Get mad for all I care but stay respectful. If u dont like Avicii others do the same way you like some artists that other people consider shit.
And again the post was about how bad the management of this event was.
Well said Najib , and horribly said and absolutely wrong way to dicuss Elie
