The electricity boats were supposed to provide an extra 500 MW during the summer season, however it’s almost winter and nothing has happened.
Meanwhile, owners of generators are still increasing the price of 5 amps that has reached 150$ in some areas in Lebanon. Of course there are more imminent matters at hand at the moment, like the salary increase for Lebanese MPs and Ministers.

He loaned them to New Jersey at double the price…
The power barges were supposed to provide an extra 270 MW and not 500 MW.
The agreement was signed in July with theTurkish government. 2 barges will arrive the 1st after 4 months and the 2nd after 6 months from receiving the down payment. As usual the government delayed the payment for 2 months. We should expect to see them by the end of this year.
if and when these ships show up, they will not be able to operate because the water pH level is unsuitable. and they require live Salmon fish in the waters for the Captain every night. and calm seas in the winter storms. and golden under water transmission lines with pink bowties every five meters. and what have you.
eh.. happy new year geDran bassil..
And people, you’re still waiting for a miracle to happen, raid his home ,you Lebanese are silent people
The reason people dont demand accountability from their elected representatives is because the Lebanese tend to take these things too personally.
If you criticize the current minister of Electricty for the aweful job his ministry is doing, his supporters take it as an attack against them personally, even worst – usually an attack against the sect of the particular minister.
this leads to church/mosque sermons bemoaning the attack on their community – leading followers to take up arms – defending their community, burning tires and what have you..
Meanwhile the electricity minister feels vindicated because the problem was there from decades ago, and was not created on his watch!
me thinks it’s similar to the chicken and egg scenario.
LebExile What you are saying is true. I really don’t care who’s the minister of energy, what really matters for all of us is having electricity 24/7. Our problem is we are 2 narrow-minded and believe everything in the media.
We need to understand the cause of the problem and who is benefiting from this chaos and maybe maybe work on the solution beyond our religious views and political affiliation. Bassil or any other minister will never be able to do anything in such a corrupt country.
