Believe it or not, there are a lot of Lebanese parents who forget to register the birth of their children. Some of them don’t do it out of ignorance, neglect or simply failing to get the full set of documents required to register their new babies. Others are simply too poor to afford the costs of registering births or find the process way too complicated.
This is a serious problem as failing to register deprives children of their most basic rights and the problem will continue to drag from one generation to the other.
For that sake, MARCH came up with a booklet that explains all the basic steps needed to register your children, including all the required documents, where to get them from, where to submit them and their cost. The project was done in partnership with the British Embassy in Lebanon.
The booklet is short, nicely illustrated and very easy to go through. Download it [here] and share it because registering your children is a MUST!
Thanks for bringing up this topic Najib!
Do you know what rights do people who are not religiously affiliated have?
