What does the sign on the left of the arguile mean? No street merchants allowed? No hotdog or corn stands allowed maybe? I’ve never seen this sign before.

You can’t pay in dollars?
There’s no one you can pay where the sign is. It is on the sidewalk before you go down to where all the restaurants are. There are no shops there. I paid in dollars this morning too at Paul, so it must be something else.
No bribing people maybe? lol
Someone on Twitter just suggested: No street hookers lol
Could be.
No panhandling…(the $ sign is displayed as no one would beg for a a few Liras lol…)
I think it means no lottery ticket vendors?
Not allowed to sell anything ur not authorized too, and the next sign ur not allowed to bring in food with u or do picnic Ùˆ Ùهمكن ÙƒÙاية coz it happened.
No beggars! Notice the cup in the guy’s hand and he’s asking for money ($ being a more universal sign of money). What I can’t figure out is the guy with the branch(?)
My dear Najib, they don’t want this venue to turn out like what had because to the Manara to Ain Mreisseh sea corniche,,, I don’t know if you notice but for quite sometimes some of the people (to whom I refer strangers of Beirut’s residences) have a sit there in group with argileh and fa7eim… I honestly stop jogging there after that my last jog turned from breathing sea to breathing m3assal. I honestly, back up zaytouna owner 100%, at last I can have a clean water front to enjoy, we already been deprived from the first mentioned one.
I don’t mean any disrespect, but jogging next to a busy thoroughfare means you are probably inhaling more car exhaust than burnt chemicals from the argileh that bother you.
I have very fond memories of the Corniche back in the 70’s when I was a toddler. I’d run around with with my tricycle, then with a bicycle or those clunky roller skates that were trendy then. I miss the dilapidated cantina vans, with their Bonjus, Orange Crush, and simple sandwiches. I also remember with fondness the mess all the bizr shells and the lupine bean skins (tadmor?) littering the ground. It was very much a family environment, with kids running all over the place, parents lazing on low stools, from time to time a mother would shout out to her kids…
The way I remember it, joggers limited themselves to the early hours of the day. My father would wake up daily at dawn and walk his 10k on the Corniche and be back home by 8am.
Is jogging allowed in Zaytoune?
Hahahaha enno tkheyalo wahad nezel 3a Zaytounay w mnazzal ma3o arguileh =P
