After the 3 hours internet outage two days back, internet in Lebanon went off yesterday at around 9 pm and is still not 100% back. In fact, most WIFIs are not working, only 3G is.
The reason is an underwater cable that was cut between Egypt and France, according to Minister of Telecommunications Nicolas Sehnaoui. As a result, Lebanon is operating on 3Gbps instead of 23 Gbps.
i believe that it is a shame that we dont have backup plan on internet or anything else in lebanon …
damage in a cable in egypt cause FULL blackout of internet in lebanon !!
also i dont think 3g is working properly.
So what happened last Monday was only a drill, and this is the real thing???
Let me sum it up:
-3/24 Hours Electricity..
-3/23 Gbps Internet..
-3/24 Hours (every other day) Water in a country where the rainfall average is 1000+mm/yr (bye SHOWER 😐 )
Whats NEXT ???????
with BILLION$$$$$$$$ in debt.. PATHETIC, really..
This happens in all countries but they have an equal backup here in lebanon we have 3Gb backup
Forgive me if i’m wrong but until very recently we did not have the IMEWE cable. What happened to our legacy connections, I.E. the connections we used before the IMEWE tie in. And why did our ISP not immediately reactivate an old cable to at least give us dial up speed.
maybe they killed the other cable
