And no one is filming them and making them into DVDs.
I remember when DJ Tiesto came the first time to Lebanon, he had the craziest party ever and it was one of the most memorable concerts I’ve been to and I asked over the years if the DVD for the concert was released in vain. I even asked yesterday if the Scorpions concert will be available but that’s not gonna happen as well. Quite surprising considering this is their last tour ever.
Are the rights to record such events that expensive? Aren’t the organizers interested in keeping a copy of their past events?
It is too expensive if they sell 1 x DVD and then everyone else gets a bootleg copy 😉
The Scorpions have the rights to record all their farewell tour. They will be doing a huge documentary that will turn them money for the rest of their lives 😉
well i was at the concert, it was being filmed and projected on a huge screen.. it would be pretty dumb not to record it 😛
FYI: Armin Only concert that took place in January was made into a DVD and is sold at Virgin.
I missed this year’s scorpion concert, but I was one of the 10s of thousands that attended their gig in the Forum back in 96… i still think it’s the best concert that happened in Lebanon, ever…. been to a few since and they have been disappointing, mainly with the seating arrangements as stand up tickets are now kept way away from the stage, in 96, i paid 30 or 35 buck and was there first row at their feet, a friend nearby even managed to catch the pick their guitarist flicked at us..it was epic…
then only other concert that i managed to get to the front row (coincidentally) was Alanis Morissette’s at the Marina Joseph Khoury in 2000, I snuck in to that one and got away from security. it was good, but not as many people and not the response you got from a famished 25000 crowd in 96 while they played rock me like a hurricane….epic and i was bummed to know this was their farewell tour and missed it
i think the 96 concert was filmed but doubt it was ever on sale
