A “Safe” ISIS Flag to burn – via BeirutSpring
Justice Minister Ashraf Rifi has requested today to legally pursue a group of Lebanese who were seen burning a flag for the Islamic State of Iraq (ISIS) in Sassine’s Square, Achrafieh. I’ve never expected Rifi to come up with a statement. If anything, those who are raising this ISIS flag in Achrafieh, Tripoli and anywhere else in Lebanon should be the ones pursued legally and arrested.
Speaking of sedition, what is the purpose of raising an ISIS flag in Sassine Square?
“Speaking of sedition, what is the purpose of raising an ISIS flag in Sassine Square? ”
Ya Najib, you know the answer. I’d bet you a bottle of Oban that it was risen by little clounies. It is a way of frightening the Christian voters…Remember election time is nearing; it is prudent to color them all black and there swoops in the little corporal to save you from the wrath of “SISI…”
i’m not sure but they could be Syrians .Also M8ers or M14ers themselves ,or any stupid person who thinks he or shr has to follow a certain party to have a voice .Anyhow,Ashrafiyeh you say ?That’s because they want to frighten Christians
If they want to pursue people burning the flag of IS, then it would only be logical to pursue those who have ever burnt a US or Israeli flag in Lebanon.
NOT defending rifi’s step but i heard that these guys burnt some ” Ayat Kor2aniya” that was the main purpose for pursuing them
Ashraf Rifi also called on Sunday for an investigation to be carried out into the burning of crosses in the northern city of Tripoli so when you’re blogging… it will be better to put the full story and not only half of it… Anyways… you’re the blogger… you know better…
K,
I’ve read the news and these are two different stories. Due to the controversy that Rifi has caused, some are reacting the wrong way or trying to make things worse.
I repeat: ISIS, their flag, their belief, their methods, their practices have nothing to do with Islam, hence burning their flag is not related to Islam and should have been ignored. It’s as simple as that.
“On Saturday, Change and Reform bloc MP Ibrahim Kanaan, who is also a lawyer, decided to defend the youth who burnt down the ISIL flag”…from naharnet.
Well there you have it as a follow up to my comment above! Let’s roll the orange flags of freedom!

…and here comes the chorus trying to frighten the Christian electorate against Sunnis. Subtle but crass. Although the Lebanese sheeple in orange will believe anything their psychedelic imagination can come up with..
