I noticed this sign outside a restaurant in Gemmayze. Apparently restaurants have to pay a fee to Al-Jazeera to broadcast the world cup matches.

Of course they do, and it varies from 1000-2000$ in downtown Beirut or major cities to around 300-400$ in less populated regions.
Fees vary also depending on the number of screens you put etc …
