Al Riyadi Beirut caused a major upset today by defeating Strong Group Athletics from the Philippines at the 33rd Dubai International Basketball Championship final game. The score was tied at 74-74 when Ismail Ahmad scored a 3 pointer at the last second to help Riyadi win back to back championships. Lebanese national team star Wael Arakji was also named MVP at the end of the final after a triumphant run for Riyadi.

This is the second year in a row that Riyadi defeats SGA at Dubai’s tournament, even though SGA had two NBA players on their team this year: Dwight Howard and Andre Roberson.
