The Lebanese government convened this morning and approved a draft decree presented by Education Minister Rima Karam to cancel this year’s official intermediate certificate exams, commonly known as the Brevet exams. In place of these exams, school-based assessments will be used.
The decision to cancel the Brevet exams for this year was driven by several factors, primarily the lack of funding and the significant disruption to the academic year 2024-2025 caused by the ongoing conflict between Hezbollah and Israel.
