I agree; the usage of the English VO isn’t the right approach especially that the sign off frame shows the White Label bottle and not the 12 Years Ancestor one.
White Label is the lowest tear of Dewar’s and mainly consumed by Class C & D of our society or used by the restaurant as mass drink when it comes to Lebanese Weddings parties and in both cases English isn’t the communication language to target this audience.
If it was for Ancestor, the story board and the English VO would have been right on target!
I Loved it, and didn’t bother me in english since Dewar’s is a Scotish brand and not Lebanese.
I found the link between the Whiskey Heritage and our own heritage interesting… hoping that the Lebanese will focus more on the essence of the message rather than analyzing which bottle would have fit the ad more 🙂
Is English part of our heritage? I find it ironic that the voice over is not in Arabic.

interesting ad…talking about heritage, and ethnicity. it might direct our attention to our cultural roots.
the bottom line from the advertiser is listen “you can revive your grand parents heritage through dewars” -it works .
