Maybe I should send the municipality the bill for the new tyre I bought. That’s what people do everywhere else in the civilized world. [Link]

you said it “civilized world” we are not part of that world
the other day i was on the highway going around 100 km/hr and found an open manhole! imagine if i didnt notice it…the consequences could have been pretty serious :S
Those things could seriously kill someone and I am quite sure they’ve already caused huge crashes. The most messed up road I’ve seen so far is the road from Tripoli to Halba. It’s like some sort of game where you need to escape potholes and you are at the final level.
Najib, please do it just to see what comes out of it, if you could manage to record the whole thing and post it, that would be great…
i bet you 10,000LL the guy at the municipality will say “Ma Khasne”.
I am gonna prepare an email and send it to them and maybe mail them a letter. This promises to be fun.
Dude yes potholes are a pain, but THAT does look like a pretty worn out no grip having tire!!
Aliman,
I had at least one year before I needed to change my tyre and being worn out does not justify such potholes. Maybe new tyres would have exploded cause of it.
Aliman, you can’t see anything from the tread, how can you judge that it’s old and got no grip?
Najib could have washed and polished it and it would have looked new.
Najib; I blew 4 brand new tires on the Karantina bridge expansion joints in 2003-2004, drove into Beirut in the day, the asphalt was there, drove out at high speed very late/early in the AM, and bam, no asphalt and the expansion joints were a good 7 or so cm out of the ground felt my spine crack along with the 4 tires and 2 rims. High speed was the cause, but the real cause was no warning signs that roadworks were underway or any notice that there was a steel beam the size of a 2X4 running across the highway…
