I recently found out about Charles al-Hayek’s YouTube channel [Heritage and Roots] after he appeared on one of Sarde After Dinner’s podcasts. Charles is a historian and researcher working on bringing Lebanese and Arabic cultural heritage on social media.

Historical channels may seem boring to many but Charles has a very engaging and fun way of tackling Lebanese heritage, history and traditions. His latest was a short video explaining the origins of the “I am the Sorrowful Mother” ( أنا الأم الحزينة) Maronite hymn.

You can follow him on [YouTube], [Instagram] & [Facebook].
