While I’m totally with civil marriage in Lebanon, one should see things from the Interior Minister’s point of view. What laws govern any possible divorce in the future? What would be the alimony? What about custody? And what about inheritance? Adopted children? etc… There are still no applicable laws that deal with such matters.
well how about they make the damn laws. cos you know, other countries have had them for years.
it’s not complicated, the government has already probably done it 17+ times for different minorities.

Why don’t u ask all the above questions for people that got civil marriage abroad and registered it in Lebanon?
