Now that the new government was formed, and after listing all the names with the corresponding ministries, here’s what these ministers actually do in real life, based on an article from Assafir and online sources:

Note: I will skip the ministers of states because the ministry of state in itself should not exist.

Ghassan Hasbani – VP and Minister of Public Health

Our Minister of Public Health holds a degree with honors in engineering and MBA in business from the UK. He is an international expert in planning, economy and technology and is head of the Cedar Institute for the economic and social issues in Lebanon.

Marwan Hamadeh – Minister of Education

Marwan Hamadeh holds a law degree from Saint Joseph University and he received a PhD in economy from the same university. He started his career as an economic and political editor for An Nahar. He has already served as a Tourism Minister, Economy Minister, Minister of Health and Social Affairs, Minister for the displaced, Economy Minister again and Minister of Telecommunications. [More]

Talal Erslan – Minister of Displaced

Erslan holds a bachelor degree in political sciences from George Washington University and a Master’s degree from the American University of Beirut. He served previously as the Minister of Tourism, then Minister of Displaced and twice as Minister of State. [Wiki]

Yaacoub el Sarraf – Minister of National Defense

Sarraf has degrees in civil engineering and architecture from the American University of Beirut. He was previously appointed as Minister of the Environment and serves shortly as Minister of Defense. [More]

Gebran Bassil – Minister of Foreign Affairs

Bassil holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in civil engineering from the American University of Beirut. He previously served as Minister of Telecommunications, Minister of Energy & Water and Minister of Foreign Affairs. [More]

Jamal el Jarrah – Telecom Minister

Jarrah holds a degree in Business Administration from the Lebanese American University. [More]

Ghazi Zaaiter – Minister of Agriculture

Zaaiter holds a law degree from the Beirut Arab University. He has already served as Defense Minister, Minister of Social Affairs and Minister of Industry. [More]

Mohammad Fneich – Minister of Sports

Fneich holds a mathematics degree from the Lebanese University (Faculty of Sciences). He previously served as Minister of Energy & Water, Labor Minister and twice as Minister of State. [More]

Hussein el Hajj Hassan – Minister of Industry

El Hajj Hassan holds a degree in Chemistry from the Lebanese University (Faculty of Sciences) and a doctorate in Physics and Chemistry from France. He served previously twice as Minister of Agriculture. [More]

Salim Jreissati – Minister of Justice

Jreissati graduated from the American University of Beirut with a bachelor’s degree in 1967. He received both the Lebanese and French degrees in law, and a diploma in private law. Jreissati previously served as Labor Minister.

Nohad el Machnouk – Minister of Interior

Ghattas Khoury – Minister of Culture

Khoury has a Doctor of Medicine degree. He is a specialist in General and Vascular surgery. He received training at the American University of Beirut (AUB) and at several hospitals in London, England. Dr. Khoury was elected as President of the Lebanese Order of Physician from 1998 until 2001.

Tarek el Khatib – Environment Minister

El Khatib holds a law degree from the Lebanese University.

Youssef Fenianos – Minister of Public Works

Fenianos holds a law degree from the Lebanese University.

Melhem Riachi – Minister of Information

Melhem Riachi is a writer, journalist & professor of Geostrategic comms. He currently works as the Lebanese Forces media officer.

Pierre Abi Assi- Minister of Social Affairs

Abi Assi studied business in France.

Avadis Kadanian – Tourism Minister

Kadanian holds a physics degree from the Lebanese University (Faculty of Sciences).

Cesar Abi Khalil- Minister of Energy & Water

Abi Khalil holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Universite Saint Joseph. He served previously appointed as an advisor to the Minister of Energy & Water.

Raed Khoury- Minister of Economy & Trade
