I didn’t like the trailer and I wasn’t planning to watch the movie but I ended up going after I read that over 20,000 have seen the movie in its first 4 days. I also went through the movie’s Facebook page and saw that a lot of Lebanese actors gave the movie a positive feedback.
However from the moment the movie started till the last minute, I couldn’t understand what the hell I was watching or what was this movie’s purpose. Moreover, I couldn’t believe people actually thought some scenes were funny and were laughing out loud. The plot made no sense, some of the actors were horrible (Specially Bébé’s brother), most of the jokes lame and let’s not talk about the ending.
Mirva was hot though.
PS: The movie will start showing in Dubai on the 5th of December 2013.
Well why am i not surprised!!!
Maybe you weren’t in the mood man!
But Mirva was hot, haydi el wa7eedi yalli ma3ak 7a2 fiya 🙂
I had a couple of drinks so I was in the perfect mood 🙂
Grown ass man “falls in love” (if you can even call it that) with a woman that has a brain of an 8 year old. “Shit” (the most cliche-ist shit unimaginable)happens in between.
Why why why why Nagib why????????
Plot reminds me of I am Sam, bass definitely gheir shi.
I still can’t believe you watched it :p
The trailer says it all. I don’t understand those who say you gotta support Lebanese cinema/actors! If the movie/script/acting is worth it, I’m all for it no matter what the movie’s origin is. If it’s not, it simply is not.
Paty,
Like I said I didn’t want to but I was wondering what’s all this buzz about? Plus I got invited to the avant-premiere but didn’t make it and got free invites to another show.
It wasn’t about supporting Lebanese cinema but pure curiosity 😛
I just watched the trailer….I am not sure I got this right, but if sexualizing a mentally handicapped women for the sake of comedy is ok for the producers it must be a great movie!,,,
This thing is wrong on many level, can women like her consent for a relationship? I am not for government censorship but decent people should censor their wallet from this thing.
Mr Nagib, did you watch Asfouri ? and do you have any idea why for the first week the movie was shown only at 6h in the major cinemas and then the week after it’s release it only showed in abraj… it’s a shame how a critically acclaimed movie goes unnoticed and how people bother talking about movies like BEBE
m,
I didn’t watch Asfouri because it was only showing at Abraj and I live very far from there. When it becomes available on DVD, i ll watch it.
Sitting through the trailer for this was a chore. Problem is as long as there is an audience for these movies (just look at the 120,000 admissions registered by Habbet Loulou, making it the movie with the highest attendance of 2013), producers will keep making these. I’m sure they cost nothing (for it to make any financial sense, these movies have to break even and/or make money just from local theatrical exhibition and TV rights, both of which do not cover an expensive production cost). I doubt a movie like Bebe will make any impact outside Lebanon.
being outside of lebanon i could not see it, but is it really a “love story” between a grown man and what they are presenting as a grown woman with the mind of an 8-year old?
does she act childish all through the movie?
does it really end on that note? (yes, i am asking for spoilers)
the trailer reminded me of this (but without the critical approach) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbycq0eVecs
Myra,
Yes she acts childish all through the movie yet somehow no one notices that (dont ask me how) and then he marries her and they have a kid a year later. I thought it was sick somehow because it was like he’s sleeping with an 8 year old but her condition wasn’t similar to others so I didnt want to get into this debate specially that the movie is not worth even discussing.
