People fleeing their homes because of war are first looking for shelter & food, but the impact on the mental health of civilians is one of the most significant consequences of war, with the most vulnerable groups being children, the elderly and disabled.

There are three associations offering this kind of support:

Beauty & Well Being:

This is an amazing initiative that was launched back in April to create space where like-minded people come together and motivate people to adopt a healthy lifestyle, in the way that suits them best. Mental health was a key part of this initiative and the people behind BWF are partnering with professionals to support the mental wellbeing of all those impacted by war.

ABAAD:

ABAAD is a UN ECOSOC accredited organization that aims to achieve gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region. During this war, ABAAD is providing lifesaving Gender-Based violence (GBV) support and offering emergency safe shelters for those at high risk of GBV as well as psychological first aid, basic assistance (Protection Kits, Dignity Kits) and more.

If you or someone you know needs immediate assistance, contact their 24/7 helplines:

Beirut Marathon Association

The Beirut Marathon Association cancelled its yearly edition due to war this year and is putting all its efforts into helping Lebanese people affected by war. They are partnering with many associations and experts to provide mental health assistance, and have partnered with DRAPP Tele health to offer FREE mental health and general medical support.
