Lebanese composer and singer Melhem Barakat passed away today at the age of 74 after a battle with illness. He was one of the most popular singers and composers in the Middle East and was my favorite Lebanese singer. I knew most of his songs by heart and still listen to him from time to time.

This man was a musical genius and he will be truly missed. Some of my favorite Melhem songs are: Chebbak Habibi, 3ala Babi Wa2if Amaren, Ya Samti, Belghi Kel Mwa3idi, Jeet bi Wa2tak, Wala Marra Kenna Sawa, Hamama Baida & Salem Aleha.
