The Huawei P9 smartphone is all about the camera. It’s decent looking phone with a rather sluggish software but its Leica-branded dual-lens camera is one of the best I’ve seen so far and makes the P9 worth every penny. For those who are not familiar with Leica, it’s a camera brand that “was founded on a long tradition of excellence in the construction of lenses and optical devices” and it has teamed up with Huawei to create the camera hardware and software for the P9.

Camera Specs:
– Dual Sony IMX 286 12MP sensors with 1.25µm pixel size
– 27mm equivalent focal length
– F2.2 aperture
– Laser-assisted AF
– DNG Raw capture
– Manual control
– 8MP front camera with F2.4 aperture

I teamed up with Jimmy (Techie Dad) to experiment with the camera, given that he’s an avid photographer and would know better how to tweak all the camera features to come up with nice shots. He wrote a full [review] of the phone that you can check out here but I wanted to share with you few RAW and non-retouched pictures taken with the Huawei P9 camera. You will find below close-ups, depth of field, light-paintings, food night shots.
