I stumbled upon an a Facebook post on Hasroun Church’s page about a Lebanese biathlete competing in Italy as a member of the Lebanese Army.

He’s called Yorgo Hakim and accordingly to the post, he took part in the cross country and biathlon competitions and achieved good results. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any references to these competitions online but it would be great if someone would shed more light on biathletes in Lebanon.

We have a Lebanese Army ski academy in the Cedars and it’s an ideal location for cross-country and biathlon training. With some proper training and funding, we could get one of our athletes to compete in World Cups. I personally love Biathlon and used to follow it for years, the combination of cross country skiing and shooting is just amazing and the races are way more exciting than cross-country ones.
