I was passing by La Duree Beirut the other day to pick up some macarons only to find that it’s closed. I wasn’t a frequent visitor to be honest, I think the last time I dropped by was back in July, so I’m not really sure when this happened.

Nevertheless, I am not surprised that they decided to close down that branch as it was located at the worst place possible. It’s a beautiful villa but there’s no parking nearby and it’s not even close to the souks or the restaurants area. On the other hand, the food they served was ok but nothing exceptional, and their macarons are really good but expensive.

All in all, it’s sad to see an iconic French pastry place close down in Beirut but there are no announcements on their FB page so maybe they’re relocating somewhere else.
