[YouTube]
This documentary shows how an ordinary man get involved in the civil war by becoming responsible for the life and death of hundreds of people, the destruction he makes to himself and to the others, and how, after the war, when he feels guilty, he tries to regain his humanity by helping a mother to find his missing son. The film asks if there is still a place for the forgiveness between the different camps, and how to avoid an other war which could contribute to the destruction of a country and its people.
Sleepless nights is an amazing one. It’s a real story and eliane did a great job connecting the events. It’s a 2 hours long film but worth watching every second of it
i am literally torn between supporting lebanese films just for encouraging anything local, and at the same time standing against bad acting/directing/story telling.
there is no comedy in the lebanese movie scene. i don’t find them funny, and i’m sure many would agree as well.
and am i the only one who finds Georges Khabbaz not so relevant? same ideas, different scenery.
i wonder why lebanese directors are trying too hard. adopting themes way above what they could stand or understand. and the problem is that they do it so bad that the theme of the movie becomes way out of proportion. too bad they write those movies with the lights of Cannes in mind.
and what is it with those actors always exaggerating their reactions? i mean do any of us act like this on a daily basis. i know i don’t.
all in all maybe “sleepless nights” deserves all the light spots here. a documentary about a confrontation between the mother of a missing son and a lord of war?
i would love to watch this. the other 3, not at all.
keeeef? ma 3ajabak trailer BéBé? A7la felem b terikh l bachariyye, sme3et eno moumkin yetracha7 3a oscar aw chi.
Rami,
I honestly was speechless after watching the trailer lol! WTF were they thinking?
hahaha! yeah i didn’t bash that movie enough LOL! guess i was speechless too Najib.
a huge WTF moment in the history of lebanese movies.
too bad i guess most people won’t realize that there’s an almodovar festival coming next week, and the european film festival coming next month.
are they trying to compete with that this fall? akhhhhh
I don’t know what’s more depressing, the trailer or the comments on the vid. “Cant wait !! Lfilm 7a ykon awesome 3ashen mirva fi 33 much love” – mrslorabieber
