I had this banned Lebanese movie for a while now and haven’t seen it until yesterday.
What a crappy movie that was! No plot, no proper acting, no proper footage, no nothing!
I had the uncensored version and the whole controversy done on this movie was about the main actress Joanna Andraos, playing a prostitute called Souraya, showing her breast at two or three occasions.
What annoyed me the most about this movie is that i could not relate to anything that happens that often in Lebanon.
– A prostitute who has a gay friend and likes to do threesomes with rich customers.
– A beggar who gives away all his money to buy a gun and kill whomever tried to kill his prostitute friend.
– A businessman who is preoccupied with killing the prostitute.
– A poor fat taxi driver who breaks into rich houses to take a bath (They show us his ass as well).
– A gay guy who has no problem kissing other guys in night clubs and in front of everyone.
And the list goes on and on …
Honestly, i think this is the worst movie i saw this year, right after “Lebanon“, that Israeli-made movie that is also really bad and boring as hell.
good boobs = good movie
I wanted to comment on that but i said baleha, the girl is so damn ugly .. she wouldn’t make it as a prostitute in real life .. I will send you a screen shot of the boobs if you are that interested.
A movie should not always be based on something you can relate to. The stuff you listed are stuff that do happen in Lebanon, not with you and most probably not with the people surrounding you, but it does happen. So why does it annoy you that you can’t relate to them? May you please elaborate?
I’ve known Najib for about 20 years now, he doesnt like anything. you cant win with him, there’s always a criticism. Mesh heyk Najib?
Oooooh I so not agree with u this time!!!
Do u seriuously need to relate to the movie?
From what I read from ur comments, u really made me want to watch it!
And PS: who said a prostitute should look beautiful? Obviously my friend, u are a true virgin in that area 😉
I don’t need to relate personally but the movie was produced to reflect a certain reality in the Lebanese society, so if they really wanted to send out this message, they should have at least shown some issues that are truly occuring in our society, not come up with the weirdest shit in the weirdest of situations with weirdos.
As for the prostitute part, she would not get paid 500$ for a look such as hers, at least not in the Lebanese market 🙂
I actually liked one part where they were eating a Shawarma in Makhlouf near Dora. Ba3den watch the movie wou ba3den 7ki. All my critics are well founded 🙂
Nagib she’s not paid for her looks but for her skills 😉
How do u know that these things are not really happening in Lebanon? This is a MOVIE not a documentary abt Lebanon.
Btw, when can I borrow the movie?
These things may be happening but isn’t it easier to portray the life of a random prostitue rather than make her live with a gay dude (who probably will never make it home if he acts that way in a normal night club and has no wasta covering him).
This is not a movie, this is crap lol.
Titties! Oh the horror! Maybe you should get out more often Najib? 😉 lol There is obviously a whole side of Lebanon that you don’t know! 😉
I heard that women outnumber men 6:1 in Lebanon. Maybe they should make a movie about the women strutting their stuff on the beach. I should move to Lebanon; as I have a feeling the girls are gorgeous and intelligent. 😀
I did not quite get your comment to be honest. It is not me who wants the movie censored, it is censored because of the titties shown lol.
I wish someone would provide a clear explanation as to how this number was generated because i’ve never seen girls outnumber guys neither in pubs or in events etc …
And where did u get ur impression from, Gianni?
Impression about what Michelle?
Michelle ma belle; it is well known that Lebanon is the plastic surgery capital of the world whereas loans are afforded by the banks to beautify the women. Also, I have heard from friends that they all try to be “made” up in all sense of the word. Thus; it was a simple assumption.
Now tell me have I made the right assumption? You can talk in first person if you desire.
Ok, I guess we covered the “beautiful” part although i’m not sure if artificial beauty really counts; what about the “intelligent” part?
What do u exactly mean by that?
I feel like I am being cross examined by the criminal prosecutor at Gitmo lol.
Michelle; I would be glad to meet with you and explain.
Regardless; I have encountered women of Lebanese nationality or ancestry who post their comments here that have reflection of high level of logic and intellect; Such as yourself.
Is that sufficient for now?
Hehehe! Well Gianni u certainly know how to make a woman blush n terribly sorry if I’ve annoyed u with my interrogation but was a bit curious n at the same time quite interested about knowing the source of ur information 😉
No annoyance. Quite the contrary it was a pleasure. I just hope that not all Lebanese ladies are so inquisitive about simple matters;))
That is the worst movie review I’ve ever read.
But yeah, I agree with whoever said that you don’t need to relate to a movie for it to be good.
Could you relate to Gladiator? or Alien?
I don’t need to relate personally but the movie was produced to reflect a certain reality in the Lebanese society, so if they really wanted to send out this message, they should have at least shown some issues that are truly occuring in our society, not come up with the weirdest shit in the weirdest of situations with weirdos.
