There is a storm in Lebanon nowadays but it’s a natural one, meaning heavy rains and violent winds and that’s about it. Meanwhile, political storms are taking most of the countries around us. I never thought a day would come where our country is relatively calm and stable and the Arab countries around us have such problems. Let’s just hope we are not in the calm before the storm period and stay that way.
I’ve been following up a little bit and there are things happening that are more than horrible, mainly in Libya where people are getting shot at, or in Iran where violent riots are erupting as we speak. Everyone is just going crazy!
Najib,
People are asking for their right of self governance and escape from dictators and mafioso militias…They are not crazy! Lebanese are hypocrites who just talk about freedom while live under the thumb of warlords and terrorist entities…Sorry if I sound political; but then again it is the truth!
they dont want their government..
we dont have one to begin with 😀
Gianni,
I beg to disagree as all those demonstrations popping up spontaneously have something fishy about them, knowing that they are being sponsored by many political parties which are no better than the current regimes in place.
Najib:
Stop believing in these conspiracies and do some research. These protests aren’t sponsored by political parties and things are very transparent in regards to the protesters.
Why isn’t Tunisia marked in the picture? Isn’t that where all of this started?
Patrick,
I did some research and there are no conspiracies as to what I am saying. Things are now clear for protestors but what follows will be a whole different story and not what they were looking at.
You will see. Egypt is the first example.
JD,
Revolution is over in Tunisia.
Najib:
I’m assuming you’re implying that when you said political parties have a part in the protests, you were referring to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. What are they getting out of it? They barely have a voice when it comes to re-writing the constitution and they can’t get into power unless elected into power.
If you’re going to list things as facts (protests sponsored by political parties) back up your claims with proof. And then tell that to the people who were protesting.
And the protests in Tunisia are over, the people are getting what they want. So how is it different in Egypt, Bahrain, Iran, Yemen, Libya and Algeria?
This can’t be for pro American interests, or even for Anti-American interests. Look at the countries involved.
Anyways. I thought this blog was supposed to be politics free?
Yeah it is and the initial post was not meant to bring up political discussions but rather rejoice on how it’s calm here 🙂
It is better I close it.
