Autism 123, Lebanon’s only autism school is shutting down because of the economic crisis. The main reason behind the closure is the dollar shortage whereas the school has been unable to transfer any funds to the Boston-based institution they work with, despite several pleas to the banks. Added to that, the school had kept its fees at the LL1500 rate and needed over LL20 million liras to cover its fuel needs on a monthly basis.

This is terrible news for children with autism, as they require additional needs and support that only specialized schools can offer.
