Kfardebian municipality issued a statement later today following the fiasco that happened at the Mzaar slopes, and decided with Mzaar Ski resort to end the ski season for safety considerations and to help reduce the spread of coronavirus.

Honestly speaking, I don’t know how the ski resort management expected to handle all these crowds when schools are closed and there are no slots assigned or limited numbers of tickets to buy. I have to admit though that I wasn’t expecting to see that many people on a Friday skiing given the economic crisis the country’s going through and the road closures taking place in recent days.

In all cases, the decision to shut down the slopes is a wise one.
