any idea if there is any price changes for MOBI?
they have MAXIMUM one month to upgrade so this starts from NOW this means that till september 24 all ISPs should have been upgraded their connections by then, VISP has already upgraded immediately (yesterday night)
Rob,
What I don’t understand is what will happen on September 24. So what if the ISPs will have upgraded their connections, does this mean it will be available to us or not? Because a few days ago, he announced a testing phase in September and the deployment later in October?
@Najib, i guess the testing phase and the deployment later is about 3G connections not the faster DSL lines
this pricelist is for DSL only, regarding 3G testing is in september, in october for mount-lebanon and beirut and in beginning of 2012 all over lebanon and more improvements to come for DSL in months
Oh I see and does DSL only mean those who have MOBI or WISE connections won’t see their connections upgraded?
http://www.nowlebanon.com/NewsArticleDetails.aspx?ID=304356 more details about all that its happening 🙂 dunno if im allowed to post a link here
Rob,
Of course you’re allowed and am gonna link my post to your article and thank you for the much needed feedback.
its not my article 🙂 i just found this
the cap thing is bullshit..
4GB on a 1Mbps connection?! REALLY?!
in the US the cap was “reduced” to 250GB per month, and a revolution almost started..
the artilce you posted 🙂
A,
oi oi oi! The internet is still shitty without a doubt, but considering what the internet was before, its an improvement. You don’t really expect Lebanon to jump to somewhere close the US standards overnight? 😛 Hopefully the internet will continue on getting faster and more affordable.
@haissam.. what kills me the most is it’s definitely “Up to 1Mbps” but nobody sees that “Up to”..
when u read the article you’ll know y its not what u expected and it will be updated AGAIN in months 🙂
some say it could have been better than the new packages some say our current copper cables dont handle high bandwidths i think the second option is right coz our infrastructure hasnt been upgraded since forever so u cant do it in days until the fiber optics finishes in 2012 maybe Q1 maybe Q2 mostly so patience 🙂
so if the cap is 4gb for 1mbits
how much the price for additional gb ?
@A
“Up to 1mbps” Means you can get to 1M if your Phone line supports it. Some customer get the 1M easely and other they cannot get 512k at all. The noise on the Lebanese line are “Shitty” sorry for the bad language but that’s the truth. As much Noise you have on your Line the worst connection you have.
My DSL at home cannot get over 2Mbps so i will be depraved from getting the 8Mbps that i wish to have.
There is another point the farther you are from the Telephone company the worst the noise get.
Regards,
Dan
