The Lebanese Parliament is meeting tomorrow to vote on the draft-law presented by KAFA for protecting women from domestic violence and there’s a gathering taking place at 10:30am right before the voting in order to impact and influence the parliament. If you can’t be there, you can still show your support online by using the hashtag #NoLawNoVote on the various social media tools and spread the word.
It’s time to put an end to these heinous murders and jail any asshole who tries to abuse his wive or any woman for that sake. Roqayya Monzer was the last victim of domestic violence after her husband shot her dead when she asked for a divorce.
Here’s a [Link] to the event.
Exotica showed support too

What a waste-of-time campaigns. At the end of the day, they’ll all vote for the ‘me33ez’ they blindly follow.
these online campaigns and hashtags are becoming really annoying
so now we must create a hashtag for every single case or problem and go take some pictures and post online!
bravo what a support! keep your lazy asses behind your screens and whenever we need people on the streets for a real change no one shows up
more hashtags and online campaigns will lead to less supporters in the real world
most of them will go for the easy ONLINE option
in the old times we had to go on the street to make our voices heard. not anymore we think that we can make our voice heard through the internet
at the end of the day its our friends who will see those stupid worthless hashtags photos.. not the men who beats their wife nor the MP who will vote or not for a new law!
Yara,
Even though what you are saying is partially true, online campaigns that go viral are making a huge impact worldwide and are helping those behind righteous campaigns to reach a bigger audience and gain sympathy of more people online.
We might not be able to cause a strong impact in Lebanon yet but the bigger the online community becomes the more it will get engaged and the more the political class will be pressured by it. Men beating their wives will see these campaigns when the TVs talk about them and the papers and all the news portals. Their kids and daughters will see them and understand that their dad did something wrong.
There are a lot of positives behind taking a picture these days and using a hashtag. Dont underestimate them 😉
i’m sure that most of these photos were posted for pure fun and it’s a way for people to show others that they are so deeply devoted to the cause.
in a week or even less they will forget about it and move to something else
and i’m saying this out from experience.
of course some do really care, but the other just wanna have fun.
same goes for the brands that take advantage of this cause like exotica and others..
i did not see a single brand or companie who donated an amount of money for the beaten woman, or for any other cause..yala we do cool posters and let everyone share them online and that’s about it!
online campaigns can change a lot but it’s sad that everyone want to take advantage to expose himself or his brand …
I wish the army beats the crap out of you all trying to make yourself some type of oh yeah I have a life
