The deputy mayor of Auburn Salim Mehajer, who is of Lebanese origins, is at the center of a controversy following his lavish wedding and the traffic chaos he caused. I am not sure how accurate these reports are, but there are talks that the Baabda Forest, more specifically the Khandaq al-Rahban nature reserve, might be turned into a dump-site.
