Rafic Eid & Ihab Hakim made history this year by becoming the first Lebanese motorcyclists to compete at the Dakar race, and Rafic went even further to become the first Lebanese to complete the race. Rafic faced countless challenges since day1 but persisted and completed 12 gruelling stages covering a total distance of 7,805 kilometers.

The Lebanese veteran ranked 68th spot in the final standings and 9th in the Veteran category. He was also awarded the BEST DAKAR SPIRIT AWARD for showing resilience and determination. As for Ihab Hakim, he unfortunately had to withdraw at Stage 10, only two stages away from the finish line.

What Eid & Hakim have achieved is an awesome feat. Let’s hope we see more Lebanese competing in the Dakar race next year.
