They opened in Jeddah around 4 months ago, and it was really really the worse burger I have ever had in my life (Grease Burger) , and it’s too expensive for nothing! I hope you won’t get disappointed with their Beirut branch 🙂
i adore your blog
but one thing that i don’t like is when you promote fast food/crappy food/unhealthy food/trans fats food…(and it’s been done many times so far)
maybe it’s because i follow a healthy diet that these kind of posts shocks me and other readers might find it totally normal.
if you’re posting this as part of a deal i might accept it a little “tiny” bit
but if you’re posting this because you personally like it, i would you ask you to reconsider this next time
the last thing we need in Lebanon are promotions for unhealthy food. already most of our society has been transformed into a lazy , car oriented society not to mention the fast deterioration of the Lebanese food diet&food quality.
promoting fast food is the same as promoting to drink alcohol or to smoke. all of them are responsible for a high mortality rate.
i might be overreacting in my comment. you might be a healthy person who likes to eat junk food from time to time but please consider that most people out there have a lack of knowledge when it comes to what this type of food is made of and how catastrophic it can be for their health and this kind of posts will easily tempt them to go eat junk.
no offense in my comment but it just happens that i read your blog daily and i like it for it’s interesting posts related to culture, constructive criticism, general awareness…
please keep it oriented only for the positive and as they say “some things are better kept for ourselves” 🙂
best,
George
Hi George,
First of all thanks for following my blog so thoroughly. Means a lot to me 🙂
As far as unhealthy food posts, I don’t post anything out of a deal or because I was told or paid to do so .. ever! Unless I want to post about it and feel like it, I just don’t. I just happen to like such places specially when a foreign venture is opening here and I love burgers so for me it’s exciting news as I get to try out a new one. I’ve already been to the Beirut City Centre Shake Shack and it was ok but not superb and it just happens that Shake Shack is opening in ABC Achrafieh so I tell interested users 🙂
I understand where you are coming from and I try to avoid these unhealthy places most of the time (I consider them as cheat meals) and I exercise regularly and been on a moderate diet for a couple of months now, but posting about an upcoming burger joint is something exciting to some and unappealing to others like yourself.
Sometimes the best meals to have are the unhealthy ones and I do envy you if you can stay away from them all the time 🙂
Agree with George! love your blog Najib, but you are sometimes promoting shops, food and fast food specifically! It is not wrong to inform us about new restos in the country, but do you have to use all these mouth watering adjectives and photos?!?!?
Its always nice to have a cheat meal once in a while. for me if i decide to have shake shack i just order the hot dog and of course the fires which is damn good (Unhealthy i know but still good lol)
